Matanzas Pirates (Palm Coast, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting DeLand Bulldogs (DeLand, FL), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they host University for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 7. Matanzas will battle a Titans squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over DeLand (DeLand, FL). The Titans record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, DeLand falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to University (Orange City, FL) to battle the Titans in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. The Titans enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. University lost 16-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Hagerty (Oviedo, FL)
