Southside Cardinals (San Antonio, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Harlingen Cardinals (Harlingen, TX), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Edinburg North for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. Southside will face a Cougars squad coming off a 8-5 non-league win over Robstown (Robstown, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 7-10.

With the loss, Harlingen falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Incarnate Word (San Antonio, TX) to face the Shamrocks in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. The Shamrocks enter the challenge with a record of 0-9.
