In Thursday's non-league contest, the New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA) softball team held off the host St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA), by a margin of 5-4.
With the triumph, New Iberia moves its record to 6-3 on the year. The Yellowjackets travel to Bunkie (Bunkie, LA) to play the Panthers in a non-league contest on Friday, March 3. The Panthers come into the contest with a record of 0-1. Bunkie lost 10-3 in their recent non-league contest against Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport, LA)
In their next game, the Fighting Blue Jays play the Sacred Heart Trojans (Ville Platte, LA) in a 1A District 5 contest, on Thursday, March 23. St. Edmund will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record.
