In Saturday's non-league game, the host South Pontotoc Cougars baseball team scored a nice 11-1 victory over the Independence Wildcats.
The Cougars (5-1) will now prepare for their game against New Albany (New Albany, MS). The Bulldogs go into the 4A Region 2 game with a 7-2 record. In their last game, New Albany overcame Potts Camp (Potts Camp, MS), 9-2, in a non-league game.
