Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Holliday Eagles (Holliday, TX), 11-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Sandies now sport a 14-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Merkel for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. Amarillo will face a Badgers squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Wall (Wall, TX). The Badgers record now stands at 9-3.

With the loss, Holliday falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Jacksboro (Jacksboro, TX) to face the Tigers in a 3A Region I District 7 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 15-3. Jacksboro won 7-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Merkel (Merkel, TX)
