Chaparral Lobos (Chaparral, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy Warriors (El Paso, TX), 18-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Lobos now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Gadsden for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 12.

With the loss, Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Warriors host Austin (El Paso, TX) to battle the Panthers in a 4A Region I District 1 challenge on Thursday, March 28. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 2-11.
