The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Shepherd Pirates (Shepherd, TX) and the host Cleveland Indians (Cleveland, TX), saw Shepherd's softball squad nip Cleveland by a count of 5-4.

The Pirates now sport a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Onalaska for a 3A Region III District 23 match on Tuesday, March 5.

With the loss, Cleveland falls to 11-6 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Willis (Willis, TX) to face the Wildkats in a 6A Region II District 13 match on Tuesday, March 5. The Wildkats enter the match with a record of 9-12. Willis lost 8-0 in their recent non-league match against Cypress Woods (Cypress, TX)
