Lamar Consolidated Mustangs (Rosenberg, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Dobie Longhorns (Houston, TX), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they host Fulshear for a 5A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Lamar Consolidated will face a Chargers squad coming off a 12-3 non-league loss to Manvel (Manvel, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 7-13.

With the loss, Dobie falls to 9-10 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to Pasadena Memorial (Pasadena, TX) to face the Mavericks in a 6A Region III District 22 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Mavericks enter the challenge with a record of 1-7.
