Temple Wildcats (Temple, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pflugerville Connally Cougars (Austin, TX), 15-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 12-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bryan for a 6A Region II District 12 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Temple will face a Vikings squad coming off a 15-7 non-league loss to Caldwell (Caldwell, TX). The Vikings record now stands at 4-9.

With the loss, Pflugerville Connally falls to 7-12 on the campaign. The Cougars host Georgetown (Georgetown, TX) to face the Eagles in a 5A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 15-6. Georgetown won 7-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Belton (Belton, TX)
