The West Mesquite Wranglers (Mesquite, TX) softball routed the visiting Sam Houston Texans (Arlington, TX), 16-0 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Wranglers (5-7) will now prepare for their bout against Poteet (Mesquite, TX). The Pirates go into the 5A Region II District 12 bout with a 5-7 record. In their last bout, Poteet was routed by Horn (Mesquite, TX), 7-0, in a non-league bout.

The Texans now possess a 1-8 record. They play next when they host South Grand Prairie for a 6A Region I District 8 bout on Friday, March 8.
