Auburn Trojans (Auburn, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Routt Catholic Rockets (Jacksonville, IL), 18-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Hartsburg-Emden for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23.

With the loss, Routt Catholic falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Rockets travel to North Greene (White Hall, IL) to face the Spartans in a West Central Conference - South challenge on Thursday, March 30. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
