Back of the Yards College Prep Bobcats (Chicago, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park Hawks (Chicago, IL), 12-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Bobcats now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Morgan Park for a Chicago Public Black challenge on Friday, March 24.

With the loss, Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to De La Salle (Chicago, IL) to battle the Meteors in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Meteors enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. De La Salle won 19-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Back of the Yards College Prep (Chicago, IL)
