Meridian Mustangs (Falls Church, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Falls Church Jaguars (Falls Church, VA), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alexandria City for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. Meridian will battle a Titans squad coming off a 15-5 league loss to West Springfield (Springfield, VA). The Titans record now stands at 0-6.

With the loss, Falls Church falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Annandale (Annandale, VA) to battle the Atoms in a National challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Atoms enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Annandale lost 23-2 in their recent league challenge against Hayfield (Alexandria, VA)
