Sunnyside Blue Devils (Tucson, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks (Tucson, AZ), 9-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 14-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pinnacle for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. Sunnyside will battle a Pioneers squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Queen Creek (Queen Creek, AZ). The Pioneers record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Ironwood Ridge falls to 13-5 on the campaign. The Nighthawks travel to Nogales (Nogales, AZ) to battle the Apaches in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Apaches enter the challenge with a record of 0-9. Nogales lost 19-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Douglas (Douglas, AZ)
