Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones (Springfield, IL), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Railsplitters now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Williamsville for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 24. Lincoln will face a Bullets squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Tri-Valley (Downs, IL). The Bullets record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Sacred Heart-Griffin falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cyclones host Rochester (Rochester, IL) to face the Rockets in a Central State Eight challenge on Wednesday, March 22. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Rochester won 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL)
