Powhatan Indians (Powhatan, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Varina Blue Devils (Richmond, VA), 11-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Midlothian for a Dominion challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Powhatan will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Manchester (Midlothian, VA). The Trojans record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Varina falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Highland Springs (Highland Springs, VA) to battle the Springers in a Capital challenge on Thursday, March 23. The Springers enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Highland Springs lost 14-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Dinwiddie (Dinwiddie, VA)
