Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) and the host Lake Norman Wildcats (Mooresville, NC), witnessed West Wilkes's softball squad tip Lake Norman by a count of 6-0.

The Blackhawks now sport a 5-0 record. They play next when they travel to East Surry for a Foothills 2A match on Thursday, March 21. West Wilkes will meet a Cardinals squad coming off a 16-0 non-league loss to West Forsyth (Clemmons, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Lake Norman moves to 6-2 on the season. The Wildcats host South Iredell (Statesville, NC) to meet the Vikings in a Greater Metro 4A match on Thursday, March 21. The Vikings go into the match with a record of 3-4. South Iredell lost 16-6 in their recent league match against Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC)
