West Greene Pioneers (Waynesburg, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Monessen Greyhounds (Monessen, PA), 15-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Avella for a WPIAL 1A 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. West Greene will face a Eagles squad coming off a 10-6 non-league win over Fort Cherry (McDonald, PA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Monessen falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host Jeannette (Jeannette, PA) to face the Jayhawks in a WPIAL 1A 3 challenge on Wednesday, April 3. The Jayhawks enter the challenge with a record of 1-1.
