North Carolina High School Softball - Newton-Conover topped by St. Stephens

March 20, 2025: Newton, NC 28658

St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 11-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, St. Stephens upgrades its record to 3-6 on the year. The Indians travel to Hickory (Hickory, NC) to play the Red Tornadoes in a Western Foothills 3A game on Tuesday, March 25. The Red Tornadoes enter the game with a record of 2-5. Hickory lost 21-1 in their recent league game against North Iredell (Olin, NC)

The Red Devils now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they travel to Bunker Hill for a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A game on Friday, March 21. Newton-Conover will play a Bears squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Maiden (Maiden, NC). The Bears record now stands at 6-3.
