Eldorado Eagles (Eldorado, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL), 17-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Carterville for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 22. Eldorado will face a Lions squad coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Massac County (Metropolis, IL). The Lions record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Pope County falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Dongola (Dongola, IL) to face the Demons in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Demons enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Dongola won 15-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Shawnee (Wolf Lake, IL)
