In Monday's non-league contest, the Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) softball team overwhelmed the visiting West Carroll Thunder (Savanna, IL), by a margin of 10-0.
With the triumph, Newman Central Catholic moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Comets host Riverdale (Port Byron, IL) to play the Rams in a non-league contest on Saturday, March 26. The Rams come into the contest with a record of 4-2.
In their next game, the Thunder play the Milledgeville Missiles (Milledgeville, IL) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, March 24. West Carroll will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record.
