Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lincolnwood Lancers (Raymond, IL), 10-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tri-Valley for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. Athens will face a Vikings squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Williamsville (Williamsville, IL). The Vikings record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Lincolnwood falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Riverton (Riverton, IL) to face the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 24. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
