Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors (Indian Trail, NC), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Union Academy for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. Covenant Day will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 14-1 league win over Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 9-0.

With the loss, Metrolina Christian Academy falls to 5-2 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC) to face the Lions in a NICSAA Metrolina challenge on Thursday, March 23. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 5-6. Hickory Grove Christian lost 4-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC)
