Independence Blue Devils (Independence, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Alliance Aviators (Alliance, OH), 10-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to North for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25.

With the loss, Alliance falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Aviators travel to Salem (Salem, OH) to battle the Quakers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Quakers enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
