Cesar Chavez Champions (Laveen, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Alhambra Lions (Phoenix, AZ), 17-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Champions now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Maricopa for a 6A West Valley challenge on Monday, March 25. Cesar Chavez will battle a Rams squad coming off a 20-2 non-league win over Carl Hayden Community (Phoenix, AZ). The Rams record now stands at 16-3.

With the loss, Alhambra falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Lions host Camelback (Phoenix, AZ) to battle the Spartans in a 6A Metro challenge on Wednesday, March 27. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 0-10. Camelback lost 24-5 in their recent non-league game against Mesa (Mesa, AZ)
