The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) and the visiting Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC), saw Cherryville's softball squad achieve victory over Chase by a count of 13-4.

The Ironmen now sport a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Burns for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A match on Tuesday, March 26.

With the loss, Chase falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Trojans host Patton (Morganton, NC) to face the Panthers in a Mountain Foothills Seven 1A/2A match on Monday, March 25. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 4-5. Patton lost 4-3 in their recent league match against Polk County (Columbus, NC)
