Jasper Wildcats (Jasper, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pike Central Chargers (Petersburg, IN), 9-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Loogootee for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 23. Jasper will face a Lions squad coming off a 7-0 non-league loss to Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IN). The Lions record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Pike Central falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to South Knox (Vincennes, IN) to face the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. South Knox lost 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Princeton (Princeton, IN)
