In Thursday's non-league contest, the McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA) softball team held off the visiting South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA), by a margin of 3-2.
With the triumph, McGuffey moves its record to 4-1 on the year. The Highlanders host Chartiers-Houston (Houston, PA) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league contest on Tuesday, March 26. The Buccaneers come into the contest with a record of 2-0. Chartiers-Houston won 5-4 in their recent non-league contest against South Park (South Park, PA)
In their next game, the Gladiators play the Seton LaSalle Rebels (Pittsburgh, PA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, March 22. South Allegheny will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Rebels come into the contest with a 1-1 record after their 8-1 non-league loss to Chartiers-Houston (Houston, PA).
