Tri-Valley Vikings (Downs, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL), 9-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host Lexington for a Heart of Illinois challenge on Monday, April 1.

With the loss, Prairie Central falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL) to battle the Vipers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 23. The Vipers enter the challenge with a record of 0-4. New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly lost 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL)
