Adams City Eagles (Commerce City, CO) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Manual Thunderbolts (Denver, CO), 10-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Eagles confront the Thornton Trojans (Thornton, CO) in a 5A/4A/3A Colorado challenge, on Tuesday, April 4. Adams City will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record.
The Thunderbolts now have a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they host Arvada for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4.
Match Summary
The Lady Eagles Varsity Soccer team played a great game against Manual High School on Wednesday night getting the all important W on their home turf. Kudos to senior goalie Angelica Quintana for keeping a clean sheet in the match. Highlights of the game include sophomore Virginia Chavez who scored the teams opening goal in the 2nd minute then adding 2 more to complete a hat trick before the end of the first half. Junior midfielder Janessa Mendoza was very active in both halves by supplying her team with 2 assists and 2 goals of her own. Adams City came out strong in the 2nd half with sophomore midfielder Amairany Vidana leading the charge with 4 stunner upper 90 goals with freshman defender Yadilexy Sierra adding a long range bender finish to give the Lady Eagles 10 total goals.
