Canal Winchester Indians (Canal Winchester, OH) followers exited the stadium content Wednesday as they witnessed their lacrosse squad top the host Buckeye Valley Barons (Delaware, OH), 15-1 in a league battle.
The Indians now have a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Franklin for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 25. Canal Winchester will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 17-7 league win over Madeira (Cincinnati, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-0.
In their next game, the Barons clash with the Lima Senior Spartans (Lima, OH) in a Region 7 battle, on Wednesday, April 5. Buckeye Valley will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record.
Game Summary
In a rainy cold game, Junior Attackman Harlee Hannah broke the Canal Winchester single game goal record with 8 goals and added 3 assists. Senior Chase Bowman had a 7-point night with 4 goals and 3 assists. Freshman Middie/Attack Tyler Papaj scored his first career goal and added 2 assists. Senior Defenseman Ty Bowman was stellar on defense, leading the team in ground balls with 9 in front of Junior Goalie Aidan Malone who made 11 saves. Canal Winchester is back at it Saturday, March 25th for its home opener against Franklin Senior High School at Noon.
