The McMichael Phoenix softball team scored 2 runs and limited the visiting Providence Grove Patriots to 1 in the Phoenix non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, McMichael moves its record to 9-0 on the year. The Phoenix travel to Morehead (Eden, NC) to play the Panthers in a Mid-State 2A game on Thursday, March 23. The Panthers come into the game with a record of 5-1. Morehead won 12-2 in their recent non-league game against Leadership Academy (Kernersville, NC)

In their next game, the Patriots play the Randleman Tigers (Randleman, NC) in a Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A game, on Friday, March 24. Providence Grove will attempt to move on its 5-3 season record. The Tigers come into the game with a 4-4 record after their 10-3 non-league loss to Ledford (Thomasville, NC).
