In Friday's non-league contest, the La Costa Canyon Mavericks (Carlsbad, CA) softball team held off the visiting Poway Titans (Poway, CA), by a margin of 4-3.

With the triumph, La Costa Canyon moves its record to 6-1 on the year. The Mavericks travel to Santana (Santee, CA) to clash with the Sultans in a non-league test on Saturday, March 23. The Sultans come into the test with a record of 12-0. Santana won 11-6 in their recent non-league test against Mission Hills (San Marcos, CA)

The Titans (3-1) will now prepare for their test against Mater Dei Catholic (Chula Vista, CA). The Crusaders come into the non-league test with a 10-1 record. In their last test, Mater Dei Catholic edged San Pasqual (Escondido, CA), 9-7, in a non-league test.
