St. Albans Red Dragons (St. Albans, WV) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Belfry Pirates (Belfry, KY), 9-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Dragons now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Capital for a Mountain State challenge on Saturday, March 23. St. Albans will face a Cougars squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to South Charleston (South Charleston, WV). The Cougars record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Belfry falls to 4-1 on the campaign. The Pirates host Tolsia (Fort Gay, WV) to face the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. Tolsia lost 13-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Phelps (Phelps, KY)
