Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Orphans now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they host Carbondale for a South Seven challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Centralia will battle a Terriers squad coming off a 14-4 non-league loss to McCracken County (Paducah, KY). The Terriers record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, Vandalia falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Vandals travel to Farina South Central (Farina, IL) to battle the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 4-2. Farina South Central lost 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Casey-Westfield (Casey, IL)
