Safford Bulldogs (Safford, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kingman Academy Tigers (Kingman, AZ), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 8-10 record. They take the field next when they host Tanque Verde for a 3A South challenge on Monday, March 25. Safford will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 29-4 league win over San Miguel (Tucson, AZ). The Hawks record now stands at 7-8.

With the loss, Kingman Academy falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Heritage Academy (Laveen, AZ) to battle the Heroes in a 2A West challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Heroes enter the challenge with a record of 16-2.
