In Friday's non-league outing, the visiting New Hope Trojans softball team scored a close 4-0 win over the South Pontotoc Cougars.

Coming up next, the Trojans battle the Clarksdale Wildcats (Clarksdale, MS) in a 5A Region 1 outing, on Thursday, March 28. New Hope will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Wildcats enter the outing with a 1-3 record after their 12-0 league loss to Lafayette (Oxford, MS).

The Cougars (9-4) will now prepare for their outing against Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS). The Indians enter the non-league outing with a 17-1 record. In their last outing, Itawamba Agricultural tipped Amory (Amory, MS), 5-1, in a league outing.
