Rowan County Vikings (Morehead, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Woodford County Yellowjackets (Versailles, KY), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ryle for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 23. Rowan County will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 10-7 non-league win over Dixie Heights (Edgewood, KY). The Raiders record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Woodford County falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Grant County (Dry Ridge, KY) to battle the Braves in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 23. The Braves enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. Grant County won 7-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Boone County (Florence, KY)
