In Saturday's non-league bout, the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) baseball squad edged the host Central Davidson Spartans (Lexington, NC), by a tally of 2-1.
Next up, the Comets encounter the Albemarle Bulldogs (Albemarle, NC) in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A bout, on Tuesday, March 25. North Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 9-0 season record. The Bulldogs enter the bout with a 1-6 record after their 10-0 league loss to Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC).
The Spartans (9-2) will now prepare for their bout against Asheboro (Asheboro, NC). The Blue Comets enter the Mid-Piedmont 3A bout with a 2-8 record. In their last bout, Asheboro was nudged by Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC), 14-2, in a league bout.
