Virginia High School Softball - Auburn edges Amherst County

The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) and the host Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA), observed Auburn's softball team get by Amherst County by a tally of 7-5.

The Eagles (4-1) will now prepare for their bout against Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Spartans go into the Mountain Empire bout with a 2-1 record. In their last bout, Giles tipped Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA), 7-6, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Lancers clash with the Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, March 26. Amherst County will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record. The Governors go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 17-1 non-league loss to Amherst County (Amherst, VA).
