The South Gibson Hornets (Medina, TN) softball routed the host Calloway County Lakers (Murray, KY), 14-3 in Saturday's non-league outing.
The Hornets now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Dyersburg for a 3A District 13 challenge on Monday, March 24. South Gibson will play a Trojans squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over Jackson Christian (Jackson, TN). The Trojans record now stands at 3-0.
The Lakers (0-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Lyon County (Eddyville, KY). The Lyons enter the non-league challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Lyon County overcame Hickman County (Clinton, KY), 8-7, in a non-league challenge.
