The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) and the visiting DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS), observed Northwest Rankin's softball team get by DeSoto Central by a tally of 2-0.

The Cougars (13-2) will now prepare for their bout against Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS). The Warriors go into the 7A Region 3 bout with a 8-5 record. In their last bout, Oak Grove tipped Meridian (Meridian, MS), 13-6, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Jaguars clash with the Lewisburg Patriots (Olive Branch, MS) in a 7A Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, March 25. DeSoto Central will attempt to advance on its 13-2 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS).
