Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN) supporters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad topple the host Lawson Lightning (Nashville, TN), 17-0 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Independence improves its record to 5-5 on the year. The Eagles host Centennial (Franklin, TN) to play the Cougars in a 4A District 10 game on Monday, March 24. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 2-4. Centennial lost 19-0 in their recent non-league game against Blackman (Murfreesboro, TN)

The Lightning now hold a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Maplewood for a 3A District 10 game on Tuesday, March 25. Lawson will play a Panthers squad coming off a 30-2 non-league loss to Stratford (Nashville, TN). The Panthers record now stands at 0-1.
