The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the St. Amant Gators (St. Amant, LA) and the host West Ouachita Chiefs (West Monroe, LA), observed St. Amant's softball team get by West Ouachita by a tally of 3-2.

The Gators (16-5) will now prepare for their bout against Denham Springs (Denham Springs, LA). The Yellowjackets go into the 5A District 5 bout with a 7-12 record. In their last bout, Denham Springs was nipped by Walker (Walker, LA), 9-5, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Chiefs clash with the Grant Cougars (Dry Prong, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, March 25. West Ouachita will attempt to advance on its 11-11 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 7-1 non-league loss to Pineville (Pineville, LA).
