The Pamlico County Hurricanes baseball team scored 6 runs and limited the host Riverside-Martin Knights to 5 in the Hurricanes non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Hurricanes (1-8) will now prepare for their match against Lejeune (Camp Lejeune, NC). The Devil Pups go into the Coastal Plains 1A/2A match with a 0-3 record. In their last match, Lejeune was edged by Jones (Trenton, NC), 12-1, in a league match.
The Knights (3-4) will now prepare for their match against John Paul II Catholic (Greenville, NC). The Saints go into the non-league match with a 3-5 record. In their last match, John Paul II Catholic was edged by Freedom Christian Academy (Fayetteville, NC), 9-6, in a non-league match.
