California High School Softball - Otay Ranch nudges El Capitan

Otay Ranch Mustangs (Chula Vista, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.
The Mustangs now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host San Marcos for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 24. Otay Ranch will battle a Knights squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Santana (Santee, CA). The Knights record now stands at 9-3.
With the loss, El Capitan falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Vaqueros travel to Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-4.
