Liberty Ranch Hawks (Galt, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Calaveras (San Andreas, CA), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Union Mine for a Sierra Valley Conference challenge on Thursday, March 24. Liberty Ranch will battle a Diamondbacks squad coming off a 30-4 league win over El Dorado (Placerville, CA). The Diamondbacks record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Calaveras falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The travel to Sonora (Sonora, CA) to battle the Wildcats in a Mother Lode League challenge on Friday, March 25. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-4. Sonora lost 4-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Golden Valley (Merced, CA)
