In Thursday's non-league game, the host Carbondale Terriers baseball team scored a tight 5-4 victory over the Nashville Hornets.
The Terriers (2-1) will now prepare for their game against Centralia (Centralia, IL). The Orphans go into the South Seven game with a 3-1 record. In their last game, Centralia tipped Salem (Salem, IL), 6-3, in a non-league game.
The Hornets (2-1) will now prepare for their game against Freeburg (Freeburg, IL). The Midgets go into the non-league game with a 0-4 record. In their last game, Freeburg was edged by Wesclin (Trenton, IL), 6-1, in a non-league game.
