New Mexico High School Baseball - West Mesa can't hold off Cibola

The Cibola Cougars baseball team scored 2 runs and limited the host West Mesa Mustangs to 1 in the Cougars non-league victory on Thursday.
The Cougars (8-6) will now prepare for their match against Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM). The Ravens go into the non-league match with a 5-4 record. In their last match, Rio Grande edged Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM), 11-8, in a non-league challenge.
With the defeat, West Mesa falls to 7-8 on the season. The Mustangs travel to La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM) to battle the Bears in a 5A District 2 challenge on Saturday, April 1. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 10-2.
