In Thursday's non-league contest, the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) softball team overwhelmed the host Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC), by a margin of 6-1.

With the triumph, East Wilkes moves its record to 7-2 on the year. The Cardinals host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to play the Trojans in a Northwest 1A contest on Friday, March 24. The Trojans come into the contest with a record of 0-8. Alleghany lost 2-1 in their recent league contest against North Stokes (Danbury, NC)

In their next game, the Falcons play the Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) in a Foothills 2A contest, on Friday, March 24. Forbush will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the contest with a 3-3 record after their 18-0 non-league loss to McMichael (Mayodan, NC).
